Picture5Pastor Chris Hardy

Hello! My name is Chris Hardy and I am a licensed local pastor in the United Methodist Church, currently in process for ordination. Serving at Diamond UMC is my first appointment but I have served the past two years as a student pastor at Faith UMC in Stroudsburg. I am very excited (and a bit nervous) to begin ministry with you. I am currently attending seminary at Drew Theological School located in Madison, New Jersey. I have completed three years of seminary and will be wrapping up my Master of Divinity degree this coming fall and spring semesters as I will graduate in May of 2016.
Additionally, I possess a Bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University, majoring in criminology and am minoring in sociology. I am a former law enforcement officer with nearly 10 years of experience in which I had to retire early from due to an injury. As my law enforcement career door shut, God quickly opened another for me as He called me to ministry in the United Methodist Church.
I am married to the love of my life and my best friend, Teisha, for almost nine years (September 30th) and reside in White Haven. Teisha is a Registered Nurse and we have three children together: Abbey (13), Adria (6) and Gavin (5). My family is the most important thing in the world to me. We enjoy spending time together, especially being outdoors enjoying God’s beautiful creation. We love to camp, kayak, and hike. We also enjoy watching a good movie or playing a board game together. I enjoy reading all things related to the church, Christianity, and the United Methodist tradition, especially the writings of John Wesley. I am also a huge Batman fan that likes to indulge in a comic book from time to time. I am an avid sports fan, but I will temporarily withhold my favorite teams for fear of scrutiny because of our geographic location.
I am very pleased to be appointed to Diamond UMC. I am eager to get to know each and every one of you. (Please forgive me if I forget your name and ask you to re-tell me.) God has brought me and my family to your church, to be with your community, to love and nurture your families for a reason and a purpose. Together we will engage God’s Word, listen to the Holy Spirit, and follow the birth, life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as we discover His purpose for us. This is a very exciting time for all of us and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us! Peace and blessings to you and yours!
Your brother in Christ,

Chris Hardy
